Gyanesh Kumar to Address Students and Interact with BLOs at Regional Conference in Chennai The Chief Election Commissioner Thiru. Gyanesh Kumar will visit Chennai on Thursday (August 27, 2026) to lead a regional conference on “Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC) & ECINET” and hold a direct interactive session with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at Kalaivanar Arangam. Organised by the Election Commission of India in coordination with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tamil Nadu, under the theme “Learn Democracy, Lead Democracy”, the initiative aims to strengthen voter outreach, foster constitutional literacy among future voters, and harness digital platforms for electoral operations. A high-level ECI delegation will participate, including Deputy Election Commissioner Thiru Bhanu Prakash Yeturu, Director General (Media) Thiru Ashish Goyal, and Director General (IT) Tmt. Seema Khanna. The conference will host nearly 1,000 delegates representing 300 schools, 75 colleges, and 25 universities across Tamil Nadu (~900 delegates) and Puducherry (~100 delegates). In the morning session, the CEC will review grassroots roll verification with 500 BLOs; in the afternoon, he will deliver the keynote address to students, followed by live demonstrations of voter registration and ECINet tools.
