Joseph Vijay Handed Over the 'Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak' Conferred by the Hon'ble President of India to the Family of Late Headmaster Thiru P. Gowrishankar Raja On 27.08.2026 at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister handed over the 'Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak' (posthumous) award along with a cheque for Rs. 2,00,000/- to Tmt. V. Sumathi, wife of Late Headmaster Thiru P. Gowrishankar Raja of Eluvapalli Panchayat Union Primary School, Krishnagiri District. On 05.03.2025, during the lunch break at Eluvapalli PU Primary School, an 8-year-old Class 3 student, Nithin, accidentally slipped and fell into an adjoining agricultural farm pond. Seeing the child drowning in critical distress, Headmaster Thiru P. Gowrishankar Raja jumped into the pond to save him, but tragically drowned in the heroic rescue attempt. In recognition of his exemplary bravery, courage, and supreme sacrifice, the President of India conferred the nation's highest civilian bravery honor, the 'Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak'.
