Joseph Vijay in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly under Rule 110 Further Increasing the Milk Procurement Price for the Benefit of Dairy Farmers Hon'ble Speaker, Recognizing the vital role of dairy farming in rural economic development, we announced in this House on 19.08.2026 an increase in the milk procurement price from Rs. 38 to Rs. 41 per litre for over 3.16 lakh dairy farmers across primary milk cooperative societies. In view of representations submitted by cooperative milk producers highlighting steep escalations in the cost of green fodder, dry fodder, cattle feed, and oil cakes, our government has decided to provide a further increase of Rs. 3 per litre, enhancing the total procurement price to Rs. 44 per litre. The entire financial expenditure arising out of this procurement price hike will be fully compensated and borne by the State Government to Aavin.
